Singing Praises for Bhanu

RDF students were invited to participate in an online cultural programme, ‘The Great Indian Festival’ in Ottawa, Canada. The focus was to showcase Indian culture. The categories were folk dance, folk music, essay writing, photo story and video blog.

Parshaveni Bhanu, a Class 8 student of Matendla School made us very proud by winning the 2nd prize in the folk song category. Inspired by his school teachers and his rural community, where traditional music is widely practiced, Bhanu has always loved performing and singing.

His father is a vegetable seller who roams from village to village to earn their bread and butter. Bhanu recorded his music to help his father sell vegetables. He has recently started a YouTube channel, where he posts his singing videos. He dreams of becoming a professional musician and expressed his gratitude to the school for providing him with such opportunities.

Our eyes will be on Bhanu and we hope he has a great future ahead of him.
