Celebrating Independence Day

High School students in the village parade

Independence Day 2015 was celebrated with a craft session for High School students and teachers of RDF Rollakal School. The famed ‘Nehru Cap’ worn by children’s favourite Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, was the theme. Students and teachers lovingly made Nehru Caps, which they then wore with great pride during a parade in Rollakal Village to mark Independence Day. The villagers joined in the children’s enthusiasm and cheered them on during the parade. Learning a little bit of history and culture in this way, about the people who obtained freedom for India was the school’s way of making history come alive for the students.
