Fields of Scientific Enquiry

MAY JC BLOG

Students of the Science stream went for a field trip around Kalleda village to learn about local plants, their importance and usage. The trip created great enthusiasm amongst the students and the Science lecturer who spent the day understanding local plant life and their relationship to the ecology. Such trips are guaranteed to create far better learning and understanding than any colourful textbook! Hence RDF values stepping out of classrooms and learning beyond textbooks – the world around us is full of learning, with plenty to offer!

MAY MS BLOG - BEL FRUIT

Matendla School Class 9 students, R. Venkatesh & R. Navitha took some the bael of bel fruits ( Maredu) for using like gum. The fruit found abundantly in the area provided a local, economical and resourceful substitute for expensive, commercial gum. This has proved invaluable to the school. They have also learnt how the fruit is used in ayurvedic medicine – another natural option available at hand!

MAY RS BLOG 2

Kalleda School serves as an inspiration for many skill enhancing activities. Redlawada School has created a photography club, inspired by the Photoblog Project at Kalleda. Many students have become interested in this activity and have reported a sense of happiness and contribution when they walk in nature, taking photos. The art of photography is a solid skill that can be a source of employment and income to interested students. Photos in this blog have been taken by B. Anusha, Class 9.

Alumni High!

MAY KS BLOG

Kalleda School invited school alumni to a meet in April to understand how students are travelling in their higher education. Such meets play an integral role in maintaining enduring relationships with our ex-students, which continues to inspire them to support RDF in any way they can. Students reported that the RDF values of Honesty, Punctuality and Transparency have held them in good stead in their further education , life and striving towards personal goals. Students said discussion on RDF’s methods and activities have had an impact on new friends who would like to visit their school. We are all very proud of our former students, who remain our support for life!
